What we've done to make this site usable for everyone, what still isn't right, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

Last updated 17 July 2026.

Why this matters here

Most people who land on this site are either older themselves or helping someone who is. Some are using a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, or a magnifier. A site those people can't use is a site that fails the exact people it was built for.

Where we stand

We built this site aiming at WCAG 2.2 Level AA. It hasn't been independently audited, so we're not going to claim we've met every last criterion. Here's what we have actually done:

  • Text and background colours were chosen for contrast, not only for looks.
  • Every image carries a text alternative, so a screen reader can describe it.
  • Headings run in a real order, so you can jump through a page instead of wading through it.
  • Pages reflow down to a phone screen without sideways scrolling.
  • If your device asks for reduced motion, the animations stop.
  • Links and buttons show a visible outline when you tab to them.
  • Every page works without a mouse.

What isn't right yet

Two things, and we'd rather say them out loud than let you find them. There's no skip to content link yet, so if you navigate by keyboard you tab through the header on every page. And on a couple of pages the headings step a level in a way they shouldn't. Both are on the list to fix.

If something gets in your way

Tell us. That's faster than any form, and it's how this page gets shorter. Call (713) 730-5017 or email info@candorlivinghcs.com. Say which page you were on and what stopped you, and we'll fix it.

If you need anything on this site in another format, ask and we will send it to you.

Care That Feels Like Home

Easier to just call?

(713) 730-5017. A real person picks up, and nothing on this page is required first.
